ELECTRIC POWER-ASSISTED STEERING (EPAS)

Fuel-efficient power steering tuned for a fun driving experience with smart, high-tech extras. More than 31,000 test miles were driven just to fine-tune the steering.

• Speed-sensitive assist optimized based on vehicle speed, steering wheel angle, cornering forces and acceleration/deceleration
• Drift Control adjusts for pulling in one direction (Such as from a crowned road or strong crosswind) to keep Fiesta tracking straight
• Active Nibble Control senses and helps cancel vibration from out of balance wheels or uneven brake rotor wear

EPAS helps improve fuel economy by reducing weight and using less engine power than a hydraulic system since there is no hydrulic pump or fluid. It aslo elimiates noises associated with hydraulic steering.
